Customer Rating: Summary: Super Reader Comment: A kids book set in the Batman movie universe after the movie with Batgirl in it. Feeling a bit left ou in the Batman-Robin thing she takes a job at Wayne Industries, and starts to suspect her boss might have something to do with Black Mask and his computer mind controlled False Face society. It seems they have bigger plans than just a gang.
Customer Rating: Summary: A fast-paced book that hits the mark for mid-teens. Comment: Picking up where the film BATMAN & ROBIN left off, this novella focuses on Batgirl, and her committment to the hero's vocation. Although Batgirl survived her baptism of fire against Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy, there are still lingering questions as to whether Batman and Robin really need her. When Gotham City is menaced by Black Mask and the False Face Society (a criminal group frequently used by author Doug Monech in the BATMAN comic book), Batgirl gets the chance to prove her worthiness to her teammates...and most importantly, to herself. Monech aims the story to appeal to younger people, and succeeds very well, avoiding the overly-lyrical dialogue that typically graces his stories. TO DARE THE DARKNESS is a fine book for younger people and a worthy addition in the BATMAN canon...or is that the BATGIRL canon? Either way, it's worth a look-see.

An original story based on the blockbuster film Batman & Robin follows the crimefighting team's encounter with a new partner, Batgirl, in a tale that reveals her real-life identity and her background through a series of flashbacks. Original. Movie tie-in."
