Summary: An amazing ending, but...
Comment: I've loved this series ever since I picked it up as a fluke in the bookstore. I've gone back and re-read each book time and again, just getting lost in the stories. I waited - rather impatiently - each time I knew the next in the series was coming out.

I have to say though, that while I enjoyed this book, I do wish that the author had split it into two novels. It seemed to me that it was a bit too cramped and rushed splitting the storyline between the characters of Raine & Jikata. The flow of the book is a bit choppy in places as the reader jumps back and forth between the two plots.

More than worth a read, but I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed.

Summary: excellent
Comment: The world of Lladrana is under siege by an alien Dark force who lives in a volcano where it has made its nest. The malevolence has created monsters who stalk the countryside killing the people and draining the planet. To save their realm, the Marshalls summoned four women who are necessary to defeat the Dark. The fifth female Raine was summoned on the cheap by the Seamsters. For her first six months she was abused and overall abused so her confidence remained steadily negative. Her job is to build the boat that will take them to the island. Her ally Faucon, once dumped by an Exotique who returned to Earth helps her but tries to keep his distance because he is drawn to her but doesn't want to get hurt again

The final Exotique to be called is Jikata, a world known pop singer destined to become a superstar. She was summoned by Mirror Magic to the Singer to fulfill the prophecy so is kept isolated to prepare her to save the world when it is time for her to face the Dark. Raine builds a boat to get there on time while Jikata and her significant other Luthan the Singer begins their quest with the other Exotiques and their mates.

Readers learn why the Dark came to Lladrana and other questions left from the previous five exciting tales are answered. The story line is fast-paced from the onset as are all of Robin D. Owens fantasies in this saga and her Heart novels. The characters are fully developed including the Dark while romantic subplots and a trek to an exotic dimension enhance the countdown prime theme of good trying to save a world from a seemingly more powerful evil.

Summary: Gripping Conclusion to the Summoning Saga
Comment: Robin Owens has written a gripping story that brings all the elements of the previous four Summoning novels to a startling intense conclusion. The battle with the Dark will be frightening and fraught with the knowledge that anyone of the Exotiques, their friends, and mates may die in the attempt to free the world of Amee from the evil that is draining her of her lifeforce.

The Singer has now Summoned the last of the Exotiques, the one who will be able to sing the spell to destroy the dark. She has done the Summoning by herself and at the Abbey. Jikata feels trapped at the Abbey but she finds the Singer fasinating and enjoys the lessons. She is given the books of the other Exotiques to read but the lessons leave her tired and she doesn't read enough to learn about the spell to destroy the dark. Only later is she told by Luthan about the knot spell.

Raine finds it easier to live now that she has been found by the rest of the women from her world. She is very attracted to Faucon but he has been hurt by Elizabeth's rejection. She immediately must learn how a ship is raised in Amee. Her design is very new and intriquing to the Lladranans. She misses her family and home. Only at the Snap will she decide if she will stay or not.

With the new push made by the Dark it is necessary for the expedition to the Dark Nest to go forward immedately.

I found the story wonderful and the characters as only Robin Owens can make them. I will admit to some tears after the battle and some sighs at the knowledge that this wonderful journey to Amee is ended. Do not miss this one, but please if you can, read the others first. You will enjoy it so much more. However, you can read it by itself, but I bet you will find the other books sooner or later.

Blessings and good reading.

Editorial Reviews:

The planet is dying, slowly being drained by an alien Dark, and only one last, desperate plan can save it.

Deep in another dimension, a disillusioned young singer is summoned as Lladrana's last hope. Uncertain of her future, unaware of her extraordinary magical talent, Jikata will be the sixth and final outsider—Exotique—to step through a dangerous portal of prophecy and magic. Survival will require her to forge closer friendships than she has ever known. The price of those bonds will threaten the very fate of Lladrana: a world where music holds the key to an ancient mystery—and six women will wage the ultimate battle against the forces of Dark.
