Customer Rating: Summary: A really good book! Comment: The Gauntlet was great. It was my favorite Justice League book.
Customer Rating: Summary: Review From a Future Critic Comment: I believe that the writer definately could've come up with a better story using the same concept, but that's no excuse to leave your collection incomplete.
Customer Rating: Summary: A fun audiobook for a mom Comment: As the mother of 3 boys, I have listened to all the justice league audiobooks while on vacation. Just when I thought I could not stand another blast of green energy, I heard this tape! There was actually a plot, character development, and an interesting story! The fact that it was about Wonder Woman, (my favorite justice leaguer) was a plus. Let's have more audiobooks about Justice League that are as well written. Please, as a parent, I beg you.
Customer Rating: Summary: I'd like to be in the "Louise Simonson Fan Club" Comment: This is an intriguing story of present-time coupled with flashbacks. I've read a lot of Louise Simonson's work and find her to be one of the best in the business. This book is fantastic to read to your kids. The story is exciting and suspenseful.
Customer Rating: Summary: Literate 'tweenage superhero fiction! Comment: The challenges of translating comic book icons into literate fiction are enormous, but Louise Simonson here proves more than merely adept at meeting the situation. Simonson obviously is well aware of the tremendous backstory to not just her protagonist, Wonder Woman, but also of Jack Kirby's New Gods/Darkseid/Apokolips franchise. She, while remaining consummately respectful of these characters and their formidable history, is not afraid to play a bit with it and make the characters her own. How delightful it might be if she were to take on the Amazing Amazon's monthly series! Not only are the characterizations apt and appropriate, her plot keeps the pages turning. This series is a strong addition to the growing body of 'tweenage fiction. Better written than the loathsome Junie B. Jones series and a bit more sophisticated than the rudely humorous Captain Underpants, these belong in all library collections. Not just for comics fans either, although Justice League and especially Wonder Woman lovers will not be disappointed and perhaps the books will inspire non-comics readers to pick up some additional great material in this much-beloved, if oft maligned format.

The arch-villain Darkseid has captured Wonder Woman and locked her up in a filthy dungeon on the planet Apokolips. He hopes to break her will and use her against Superman and the Justice League. Robbed of her armor and her magic lasso, it takes all of Diana’s power to resist her captor, knowing she must escape soon or betray her friends. As she musters her strength to break free, Wonder Woman must prove to herself that she is a super hero with or without her magical weapons–or die trying.
