Summary: Superficial plot, but nice anyway
Comment: Well, after Vision of the Future, I of course wanted to read about the wedding and this comic provided it for me. The plot is superficial, but I liked a lot of the other things. Like the dress fitting (especially the retro imperial design), the women in the Spa (and what came directly after) and of course some of the action. I agree with some other reviewers that Mara didn't look as good as she did in By the Emperor's hand (there she was a real tough bitch, and I mean this in a positive way), just a bit too much of a nice girl even if she did put her light saber to good use. Most of the characters were drawn well, especially Han, but whoever decided to do Luke's hair on the wedding day was probably suffering from some kind of mental sickness. Really! And Mara's dress was just a bit too traditional (why not another colour than white?). But on the whole I liked reading it, and laughed a lot too! If you like Mara (and Luke of course), then you should certainly pick it up. If only to realise that these characters do normal things as well, not just fighting and whacking around.

Comment: I hate to rain on anyones parade, but I was very unimpressed with this book. To me, the dialog seemed strained, the plot disjointed and the love scenes overly syrupy. Sorry, but I think the reader can do better elsewhere.

Comment: After reading all these glowing reviews of Star Wars: Union, I purchased it from Amazon.com. Unfortunately, it wasn't interesting, nor worth the money. Although the drawings were substandard compared to other Star Wars graphic novels, the story was awful. The plot consists of several Imperials who view Mara Jade (aka the Emperor's hand) and Luke Skywalker's wedding as a sign of bad things to come for their group. So, like most villains, they decide to crash the wedding at all costs. It sounded fairly interesting, but when read, it was executed very poorly. If you're a die-hard Star Wars fan and love Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker (I'm very interested in both characters), and don't care for a weak plot, then this is for you. For the remainder of the group, I suggest reading the other Mara Jade graphic novel, which is superior in all aspects to "Union".

Comment: This sometimes confusing comic should have had a great story. The idea was a good one. I am sorry to say that it didn't inspire the imagination or hold interest for long. Don't get me wrong. As comics go, this is okay. I read it completely through once, but will never feel the need to pick it up again. Die hard fans beware: You will not be falling in love with this one.

Comment: This is a great book. Luke and Mara are wonderful together, and 'Union' is a cute story about their wedding. Sometimes the pacing is a bit confusing, but overall a great comic.
