Customer Rating: Summary: Another great volume in Todd Mcfarlanes Spawn Opus Comment: After being introduced to this comic by a friend of mine I was instantly hooked!! This comic is thought provoking and deep, fans of batman will love Capullo's art style and will also love Spawn's self loathing lines! Though this book is Great, I believe no one under 13 should read it, there is gore and brief scenes of nudity but don't let that stop you from picking this one up now, YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Spawn: The Legend Continues..................to Drop the Ball Comment: WARNING THIS VOLUME IS MISSING AN ENTIRE PAGE OF DIALOGUE.
(Or at least the version I have does)
(The edition I purchased has a different cover than the one shown on Amazon.
The cover-art to the version I own, is the cover from issue #43)
I'd like to start by saying, I love Spawn!!!!!
I can't stress that enough. (I own everything with his name on it)
It's because of this love, that I am so critical of this collection.
which has been less than stellar thus far.
If you've gotten this far into the series,
you definitely don't need me to tell you what this tale is all about.
In this volume:
- Spawn discovers he has even more powers than before
(which at this point, is par for the course),
- After a particularly gruesome encounter with 'The Curse'
his symbiotic costume goes full-tilt-boogie.
- Cygor the cybernetic gorilla goes on a rampage.
- & Spawn goes to hell.
- There are some heart warming stories in this collection as well.
(The christmas one springs to mind)
- And some tales that deal with real issues like racism & child abuse.
But there are 2 problems you'll find with this particular collection:
1. Two issues are listed as #38.
Be rest assured though that the Christmas issue is indeed #39
2. Page 9 on Issue #48 is missing all of it's dialogue. (Bravo editors)
Which will make page 10 really confusing.
Because I'm a fan and really want other people to enjoy this series.
Here's the dialogue that should accompany page 9 of issue #48.
1st Panel:
- Cog - "SPAWN! AL! Why are you doing this to yourself?"
"Contiuing to play into the devils hands."
"Or maybe it's not you."
"Maybe the costume has finally taken total control."
- Spawn - "The costume has nothing to do with this."
- Cog - "Oh really?"
2nd Panel:
- Spawn - "Yes!"
3rd Panel:
- Cog - "So you're purposely building this prison on your own."
4th Panel:
- Cog - "Trying to isolate yourself from others."
"Hide from life's realities."
- Spawn - "Yeah that's it."
"But now you know where I'm at."
"So I guess I've failed"
- Cog - "You don't know the half of it."
As a result of these mistakes,
I didn't give this collection the 5 stars it deserved.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
All the greatest hero's have tortured hearts.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Spawn! Comment: It is great to have all those many magazine is one volume. Another item worth to have in your collection, if you like Spawn very much.

Spawn, the archetypal anti-hero, is featured in pivotal confrontations with The Violator, The Freak, Cy-gor and The Curse. Complete your Spawn library with 20 issues of pulse pounding sequentials.
