Summary: WOW! This is how it should be done!
Comment: This may not be a standard-style audio book, but it is so much more: it is truly an audio graphic novel! Imagine that all of the sound effects, dialogue and thought processes that are in a graphic novel and they are well represented here!
I have been a fan of DC audio books since Kingdom Come, but this one really made my car shake (listened to on a trip out of state). You could feel Superman's punches, and the overall pandemonium of multiple heroes attacking alien's is astounding.
One thing: if you are a stickler for continuity, you will need to consider that in this version of the League, Young Justice and Red Tornado are still active (which means Superboy is alive and Bart is still Impulse, along with the Secret being active). It was neat trying to piece together who was involved (mentions of Doom Patrol as well as other teams were all over the place) and hearing the actor's representations of such iconic heroes is actually very good.
This is a must buy and just so you know, I already have the next volume purchased and awaiting me in my car as we speak - I was that excited.
Great job by Graphic Audio and if you like this, check out their other fantastic DC audio graphic novels - 52 was the last one before this. They are well worth it!

Summary: Not a true audiobook, more like an audio play
Comment: While there is a good chunk of narration on this, the action is actually driven by multiple voice actors reading dialogue with sound effects and music. Kind of strange, like it's the audio track of a movie you can't see. As I understand it, a chunk of the dialogue was actually written just for this recording, and isn't actually from the book. I liked this format, and I thought most of the voice acting was very good. But if you're looking for a "normal" audiobook where someone just reads what the author wrote, this isn't it. Still, I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to try out something new (or who is a Justice League fan).

Editorial Reviews:

When a mass outbreak of super-powered individuals threatens the world, the JLA determines that latent metahuman abilities are being triggered by an alien contagion, one that's spreading throughout Earth as it transforms its hosts into monstrous engines of destruction. Racing to contain the infection, the world's greatest super heroes link the parasitic plague to an alien invasion from the team's earliest days and make a horrifying discovery: the JLA itself is responsible for the imminent disaster they now face.
