Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but needs more content for the price. Comment: Included in this volume are many charts and guildlines that a player can use to help flesh out his character buy simply choosing or rolling randomly. Another great thing is the master index for feats, skills, spells etc. making it very easy to find character building material in the various Conan RPG suppliments. Cover and interior artwork are quite good.
My only complaint is that there should have been alot more content for the price of $24.95 MSRP.
While Mongoose has this book listed as a "core" rulebook, I would say that you can get by just fine without it and may want to consider some of the other Conan RPG material first if you are on a limited budget.

The Hyborian age is the ultimate 'age undreamed of.' The Hyborian age is one of the fundamental inspirations for the sword-and-sorcery genre. The Hyborian age is an age of larger than life characters who take what they want at sword's length - or they use sorcery to fulfill their desires. It is a world where civilisation and barbarism co-exist with crimson clashes and a world where death can be found in almost any shadow or niche. The Hyborian age is an epoch where people called 'noble' are debauched and corrupt and people labelled as 'savage' are honourable and straight-forward. Aimed at players, this book allows players to make their characters less generic and more a product of this fascinating world. Armed with this book, a player will have tools to breathe additional life into their created characters.
