Summary: Great Live Performance
Comment: This is probably the favorite Cure video I own. I got to see them during the Wild Mood Swings tour at The Palace in Detriot (where this video was filmed)and it was almost an identical concert, except for the new songs. I really hope they bring this out on DVD some day because I would buy two!
But great song choice on this video and just a great all around performance by the band and some great guitar work by Porl. If you're a fan and don't own this, you need to get it!

Summary: Unbeatable live album
Comment: This was my first experience hearing The Cure live...and I have to say that it didn't disappoint. They are an amazing live band and sound better live than in the studio. I have been listening to The Cure since 1983...and they have never failed to surprise me from time to time. Even with their wishy-washy "Friday I'm In Love", you had to say that no-one can be that gloomy all the time and it was a breath of fresh air for them(but back to the review).
The sound quality on this video is as excellent as is their abilty to outperform many of their greatest songs. I was particularly impressed with their live version of "Just Like Heaven". I rarely listen to the studio version anymore.
In closing, the video, and companion cd, is a must for any Cure fan. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!!!

Summary: not "Trilogy" but still amazing
Comment: I agree with the other reviewers who point out the brilliance of Porl Thompson. To see him play live is one of the all time greatest Cure moments. This "show," like so many Cure performances, is solid but varied; a rich, multilayered production of the highest caliber. The Cure are always wonderful live.

Summary: The "Show" of a lifetime!!
Comment: Another one of Lauren's dear favorites.... Here is your chance to view one of the best concerts to ever be recorded. It's so unique, from the way it "opens" up with random shots of die-hard Cure fans.. To the way it slowly and dramatically "ends", a fitting song to balance the entire mood that is given off by this amazing band.
I've owned the cd for close to a year now, and though I've listened to it countless times it's even more incredible when you put wonderful images to it. And guess what?! Yes, Robert DANCES in it!! It is true to anyone who is doubting.. It's a rare moment that many don't get to see, but it's right there on film for us all to enjoy. Cameramen that use the same techniques on "In Orange" move around the entire band in many songs, so you get to see the boys up close and hard at work.
This is Cure with one of the most powerful line-ups to date, Perry, Porl, Boris, Simon, and our dear Robert. I'm a faithful Rob fan, but I gotta admit Porl shines just like a diamond on this tape. Everything from the black and white "A Night Like This" to the silly "Lets Go to Bed" will keep you in your seat every minute. The feel of this concert is intense, dramatic and at many times breathtaking. Take for instance "From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea". If you thought the original was spectacular, just wait 'till you see it in concert.
It's classic, what can I say? I still wish that I was able to go see them in '93, but I'm still thankful that I have this video. Once again, this is another fairly hard-to-find Cure video (winning a bid is nearly impossible) so don't pass Amazon up!! The Cure gives new twists on old favorites of the late and early 80's. You'll find yourself wanting to sing along to every word - seriously!! So don't be like me and wait for longer than what I should have, buy this now!! Us Cure fans don't lie!!!
