And why the hell Louis Jr. Gossett, why don't they come with someone who is more like him in the comics.
And where the hell is the big skull on his kevlar body-armor !?But still one of the good movies that are still left.

Well fellows, I hope you've fastened your seat belts! As this movie is gonna rip you out of your seats, you should have!
Dolph Lundgren stars as "The Punisher", a former police officer whose family got wiped out by some cruel mafia gangsters, five years ago. Their time has already come short after that attack (125 murders in five years- not to be looked down at!). Still mourning in his heart and dreams, he's killing when he is awake- and this without further ado and great vengeance!!
If you love good action movies as well as killing scenes then that's a must-see for you.
This movie enlightens you about the ways of bumping off your enemies! All various kinds of killing are shown clearly ( whether with knifes, guns, swords or ninja stuff etc.) There is no stinginess in bullets and weapons!
Suspense itself develops by making you wanna know what kill will be shown next. Get it, watch it and find out!!!!
The plot itself is kinda interesting. First of all one gets enlightened about that fighting between the mafia and "The Punisher", then, suddenly a shipment of drugs (delivered by the mafia is interrupted and intercepted by the Yakuza). This scene takes it all!! Check it out!! At the very end of the movie -I would say- violence increases (in value) and all of the "not yet obliterated" are now getting obliterated and "slaughtered". So we come to one of the best scenes when the elevator reaches the room of the Yakuza and opens its doors, "The Punisher" and his "Mafia-boss-assistant" open their fire on the enemies (ninja fighters wanting to attack the intruders without having any chance(s)!!). Fantastically and furiously mowed down to the ground by machine gun fire and other beautiful accessories (ninja swords, spears and knifes) for "brutal" murder!!!Concluding I must say this "hell of a movie" does even better than most of the following action movies of this genre! Although seeming to be a B-movie it outdoes all its competitors as well as make them luster very pale!!!
Not for the squeamish!!!!
"The Punisher" (the tiltle per se reveals much interest) is one of the most electrifying and binding movies you need for a good Saturday evening entertainment with fast food and cheese dips!
If you have not purchased this movie yet you'll be missing out some bloody good blowing-up-your-skirt action material!
So, my recommendation for you is: get it now!!! and let yourself go watching and enjoying it!

Comment: ...from the comicbook. But the opinions on "The Punisher" are divided. I'll give you so much: there is enough carnage to keep the average splatter-punk happy, and that is more then many big budget-movies can provide. Definetely a keeper - I did sell the tape, but I got me the DVD instead.
