Customer Rating: Summary: Is Perfect but is much better on DVD Comment: The Savage Land is a perdect movie cartoon but this movie cull be better on DVD in english and spanish languages.Storm is very powerfull I love her.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellant Comment: This tape is about two of my favorite X-Men, Storm and Phoenix. The first two episodes are focus on storm as she is possessed into releasing a spirit (garrock) who has dwelled in the savage land for centuries. the rest is the dark phoenix saga (anyone who reads the comics knows exactly what goes on but for those of you who don't...) jean is found after being the phoenix (see the phoenix saga dvd) and it has become evil. and this is the first (and i think only) time you get to see the hellfire club in the cartoon. a welcome addition to any x-men collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent video -- 6 episodes all on one tape! Comment: This is an excellent purchase considering there are 6 episodes on this one tape. Simply enough of an X-Men fix for anyone. But seriously, this vhs tape captures six episodes of the classic X-Men cartoon from the early 1990's. At the time that this cartoon was released, this animation was pretty much state of the art. IMHO, the art still holds up very well, and I prefer this series to the newer X-Men cartoon that is currently being broadcast. As I've noted, there are six episodes on this tape. The first two episodes are the Savage Land series. Beast, Jubilee, Wolverine, and Storm travel to the Savage Land where they battle Sauron and the mysterious Garokk. These episodes guest star Ka-Zar. The X-Men must free the Savage Land first from the tyrranical grip of Sauron while unravelling the mystery of the stone spirit of the Savage Land. I found these episodes to be enjoyable, but the lack of Cyclops was a big downer for me. The last four episodes consist of the Dark Phoenix Saga. These are absolutely brilliant. The cartoon accurately recaptures the Dark Phoenix Saga from the comic books, one of the all time great stories. Dazzler makes a guest appearance. More importantly, these episodes feature the Hell Fire Club. Jason Wyngaarde, with help from the White Queen, corrputs Phoenix's mind, seemingly turning her against the X-Men. The mental manipulation twists Phoenix's mind, turning the spirit towards evil. The Imperial Guard intervenes, and the X-Men must fight a battle royale for the fate of Phoenix and more importantly, Jean Grey. This is great stuff, capturing the personalities of all the X-Men.The video print is very nice. The tape is relatively clear and is of excellent quality. There is little trace of any decay from the master and there is little or no static anywhere on the print. The soundtrack is solid for a cartoon. If memory serves, this was one of the first tv cartoons that was recorded in stereo. Overall, if you are an X-Men fan, I'd recommend this tape. If you can only afford to buy one vhs tape of the X-Men cartoon, this is the one for you.
Customer Rating: Summary: I LOVE STORM Comment: Storm is always doing all the work for the xmen. with out her the xmen would be nothing. this video is great i reccomend buying it. and without storm i wouldnt watch xmen because i wouldnt enjoy seeing them get beat.
Customer Rating: Summary: x-men rules Comment: These episodes are great. I love the dark phoenix. jean grey was amazing in this. I've never seen such power in jean. That episode left me breathless. I couldn't get out of my seat the whole time. The dark phoenix is one of the most powerful forces i've seen in the x-men.Savage land/Strangeheart is a heavy episode. Seeing storms powers is overwhelming. I always new she had a lot of rage in her. She is one of the most powerful x-men. She's like a mother to all the x-men, she's not afraid of anything. Also Maybe i've missed it, but i've never seen a story about her past. I've seen everyone else's but hers.

Six episodes from the X-Men animated TV series, an attempt to bring the popular Marvel comic book series about the next link in human evolution, people endowed with special powers due to their mutant nature, to Saturday morning television. The TV series ran for five seasons, from 1992-1997, more or less faithfully translating the comic books to video. This offering contains the two-part Savage Land, Savage Heart and the four-part Dark Phoenix Saga, all from the third season. Savage Land, Savage Heart has Sauron, a part human/part pterodactyl who feeds on the energy of others, kidnapping Storm under the orders of the stone god Garokk, who plans on using Storm's powers for his own ends. The Dark Phoenix Saga continues The Phoenix Saga in which Jean Grey was taken over by the mysterious Phoenix force. Now the Phoenix has gained the upper hand, with the help of Jason Wyngarde and The Inner Circle mutants. Will the X-Men be able to remove the destructive Phoenix from Jean's body, or will Jean have to die in order to defeat the Phoenix? Too bad the animation is so cheap and choppy, but the plots make up for that with some pretty exciting, fast-paced action. This is certainly for more mature kids, featuring as it does fantastical battles between mutants and some oddly stilted and formal dialogue, such as, "We are certainly between Scylla and Charybdis, between the proverbial rock and a hard place!" Be advised. --Jim Gay
