Customer Rating: Summary: Looks great, but has little else Comment: So, what we get here is a 'sort of but not really' sequel to the original Tekkaman Blade. I say sort of for several reasons; this seems to have been produced by an entirely different staff, features mostly different characters, and suffers from major continuity problems.
I'll start with the continuity stuff (nerd alert): In Tekkaman Blade II, all of the story surrounds people who gain powers as a result of having become 'primary bodies'; however, in the original Tekkaman Blade, it was made clear (by a direct statement from Freeman) that once one became a primary body they became a comatose shell until inhabited by a Radam parasite. This alone renders basically all of the events in this series impossible. Secondly, how the hell could Earth have rebuilt so quickly and gained so much technology in ten years after the Radam invasion? Third, D-Boy/Takaya has his crystal again and has no problems turning into Blade... This is theoretically possible, but pretty damn unlikely given the ending of the first series. Moreover, why would Radam come back so quickly, especially with a huge Tekkaman army, when the whole point of their original invasion was to produce Tekkamen to host their fragile parasitic bodies? It just doesn't make sense.
The treatment of old characters is also somewhat problematic. Although Aki and D-Boy reprise their roles and come across as they logically might given the passage of time, the rest of the original cast is basically neglected in favor of the new characters, who are almost all shallow and uninteresting with the possible exception of David. No wonder that the second (and better) half of the series relies so much on Blade showing up to save the day.
Why then, do I give it three stars? Well, as a stand-alone OAV, it's a fun watch. The animation is fantastic; much higher quality and consistency than the original (give or take a few episodes), the fight scenes are generally cool, and there's a lot of fanservice. I'm not saying this contributes to quality, only that it makes it a fun watch. The second half of the storyline, with the relationship between Dead and David, is actually pretty interesting and well-done. Plus, I loved the original series so much that I can always deal with more Tekkaman, even if this isn't exactly what I'd like.
Nevertheless, the new mechanical and character designs are not on par with the original (the improved animation quality makes Blade's fantastic design stand out head and shoulders above everybody else) and the story is only half-decent... As it stands, I'd say watch it just to see it and appreciate the fighting and the animation, because it is entertaining, but don't expect a true sequel to the great original series. To me, this does not deserve to be canon within the Tekkaman continuity... It's more like a "what if?" scenario. And as such, it works decently.
Customer Rating: Summary: tekkaman blade 2 is weak Comment: I don't speak english very well so please forgive me.I am from Puerto Rico and i recently buy the original version of Tekkaman Blade uncut with all 49 episodes and in japenese audio with english subtitles in a small video club I don't know how they founded but I must say that is much better than Tekkaman Blade 2.If you want to see how the story continues it's okay but don't expected to be as good because is weaker in a lot of aspects like the plot and the colors are too pink. The original is much more dark and the story is a lot better.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tekkaman Blade 2 Rocks Comment: Ok since I've read the other reviews I thought I write one, and make things a lot clearer.
First off the reason why Tekkaman Blade 2 is so different from Teknoman is because it's the original UNCUT version. And since it's the original version - all of the character names and even the title is different.
Teknoman as most people would call it was once on UPN many years ago. Teknoman is a awfully EDITED version of Tekkaman Blade. Tekkaman Blade is the original title. Also many names of the characters were changed for the edited version. When Tekkaman Blade was edited to Teknoman- many footage was edited out. This ruined the show. Tekkaman Blade wasn't ment to be edited.
Tekkaman Blade 2 stayed to the original, and is by far 100 % better then Teknoman. Or I should say Tekkaman Blade and Tekkaman Blade 2 are better then Teknoman.
Sadly there is no way to see Tekkaman Blade (Teknoman) uncut. So there's only Tekkaman Blade 2.
Customer Rating: Summary: A great end to the series Comment: For those of us who saw "Teknoman" on UPN 11 years ago (yes is has been a while), or the original Tekkaman Blade, Tekkaman Blade II comes as a great addition to the series. I highly recommed it to anyone for their anime collection (especially for fans of Guyver and Evangelion).
Customer Rating: Summary: Tekkaman & teknoman Comment: Teknoman on tv is one of my favorite shows. Tekkaman blade II is suppose to be ten years later. But their was errors in tekkaman that is not the same as teknoman. 1. the white teknoman had pegus not the female they did not say how she got it. Tekkaman is good but teknoman was better in my view. I hope one day soon to see the original on dvd. I think of them as two fine and different show. The action is good the story is not as good as teknoman. I link the improved weapon the teknovolter (sorry about the spellng). It is cool. I Would like to see more of this series so we can see how all of it happened, but if you take this is new you can enjoy it. It is worth getting for the action. The story of black sunday is cool as well. Lets all e-mail as many people as we can to get teknoman on dvd.

These six episodes form the second sequel to the 1975 Tekkaman TV series. Ten years after the end of the first sequel, SK Tekkaman Blade, Earth is still at war with the Radam. The only effective weapon against these aliens are the Space Knights, who fight in armored mecha suits. Klutzy blonde Yumi Francois is the newest trainee, and a computer accident gives her the power to use the latest super-weapon, Reactor Voltekker. This power feeds into the standard rivalries and frustrated attractions that occur among the Space Knights between high-tech battles. The key conflict pits D-Boy, the hero of the previous series, against Dead End, the suicidal transvestite survivor of a group of Tekkaman rebels. Blade II feels like a longer plot that was severely compressed: the story ends before it really begins. Unrated; suitable for ages 16 and up: Nudity, violence (mostly between robots), alcohol use, sexual innuendoes. --Charles Solomon
