Customer Rating: Summary: Going on with the show Comment: Although this the tour for the Magnet album the song selection is more broad with songs from the Bee Gees and Robin's solo albums. Coming close on the heels of the passing of his twin Maurice there is a hint of sadness to Robin yet a determination to do what he does best, sing.
The killer vibratto is still there and the sense of humor. Although he starts off a bit stiff Robin losens up as the show goes on. When the audience continues singing his 80s solo song Juliet, a big hit in Germany, Robin is obviously touched.
If you like Robin, the Bee Gees, or just a nice concert video check this out.
Customer Rating: Summary: Moving through loss Comment: Robin has shown us all there is a positive way to move through a loss. Standing still has never been acceptance, and although he has maintained his non-acceptance of the loss of his twin, Mo, Robin has made an impressive move toward that very point. The energy from the audience was more than enough to make up for the sometimes hard to hear voice we have come to identify with so many songs of our lives. Then, again, had I been there in person, I wouldn't have cared about that particular problem. Being able to hear Robin at all and see how he interacted with his audience would have been more than worth the price of the ticket. That said, my favorite numbers are 'Love Hurts' (his voice fits the lyrics like a glove), 'My Lover's Prayer' (the pause after the line "'Cause I can't let go" seems made for the sentiment expressed), 'Please' (I was surprised to learn it was not written by a Gibb brother - it is so like their work), the upbeat redo of 'New York Mining Disaster 1941' (strange, but it works), and of course, 'Juliet' (what better tribute than to have your audience refuse to let the song end). I thoroughly enjoyed the shots of the audiance singing along with every song, and to see the diverse age differences, from young teens to grandparents. Being a grandmother myself, who grew up with the Bee Gees, it is heartening to see Robin keeping the music alive. May he continue to make us remember there is more to life than resting on your laurels. Stretching his horizons, Robin has proven you can never be too old or set in your ways to learn. Good job. . .bravo. . .and do it again!
Customer Rating: Summary: somebody stop him!!! Comment: i LOVE the Bee Gees and Robin and all of them....I was at the One Night Only show in Vegas ...at GREAT expense. I wish I had enough money to buy up all the copies of this disaster so it wouldn't be out in the world tarnishing the brothers Gibb reputation. Besides the horrible , did I say horrible...wig he is wearing ever so sloppily, the sound as others report is terrible , the staging and other singers are worse than a vegas impersonator show production...YIIIIIKES! They are giving these away in the junk/remainder bin at CVS pharmacy stores for $3.99 and its overpriced at that. If you haven't seen it...DON'T, just DON'T!
Customer Rating: Summary: Robin's #1 FAN Comment: I absolutly love this DVD. I have the CD, as well. I was lucky enough to see the Bee Gees, "LIVE" in 1979. Back then, Barry was the "sex symbol". Over the years, I've come to respect Robin's vibrada, as being the best in the business. I miss Maurice but if you're a huge Robin fan like me, You need this DVD. To see him perform LIVE, "Bee Gee" classics as well as his own solo hits, it just blew me away. You can accuately "see" how he produces that sound. It's the voice of an angel. I'd also suggest buying the "This Is Where I Come In" DVD. It takes you from their beginnings to modern day. In their own words, with video of the group before they were a group. I watch them both, over & over !!
Customer Rating: Summary: Robin is not heard Comment: The best voice of the BeeGees can't really be heard on this DVD. I tried running it through the reciever, tried Hall, Stadium, Theater. He gets drowned out on every song by the back ground singers and the instruments..............It's a shame cuz he has such a good voice, maybe it's where it was recorded. Robin.........do you read this stuff??? Try a better recording place and do Maurice proud!

Robin Gibb, backed with a full orchestra, plays hits from both his Bee Gees and solo careers in a spectacular concert filmed in Bonn, Germany in September 2004. Robin Gibb is one third of the Bee Gees, one of the most successful vocal groups of all time. The Bee Gees have sold over 100 million albums over their 3-decade career, and their catalog still consistently sells. A new Best Of CD and DVD (both were released in late 2004) have continued this trend.
