Customer Rating: Summary: What the....? Comment: It's been awhile since I've looked for DVDs of my favorite 70s TV shows and was UNpleasantly surprised to see that $6 Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman are out but not available in a US format.
How is it possible that it's more worthwhile to release this to a market other than the US?

Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding Xfrs for BW S1 from R2 Comment: Hello, fellow Bionic fans and Amazon'ers out there :)
I highly recommend this set. The transfer quality to DVD is outstanding and fared much better than the (R2) 6M$M S1 set. All episodes are uncut (no missing scene footage). After suffering through the infamous "SciFi" / syndicated versions of this series in past years, this set's a real gold mine to own. My set plays flawlessly on my Pioneer Code-Free PAL/NTSC Converter player. There are those that can detect the PAL speed-up phenomenon compared to NTSC, but from feedback on other TV/DVD collector forums, the ability to detect the PAL speed difference will vary with the individual viewer. All I can say is that these eps are studio-quality sparkling pictures, and I can't tell the difference in this set and any other of my NTSC TV/DVD sets. If you're a BW fan, this set's a sure-thing. S1 is my personal favorite season of this series. BTW, S2 is available from R2 & R4. I have the R4 set and it's the same A+ xfr quality (and verified un-cut eps) as the S1 R2 set.
For those with interest in "Extras" in TV/DVD sets, there are none in either of the R2/4 Bionic S1/2 sets. That's unfortunate, as one that's had the privalege of meeting Lindsay Wagner recently, both Lindsay and Richard Anderson would have been happy to provide interviews, trivia for these sets. Universal is an unpredictable studio with regards to providing Extras in their TV/DVD sets but, whatever we think about Universal, their track record for using the un-cut as originally-aired episode versions in their 60's-80's TV/DVD sets is outstanding. I give them an A+ for that effort, since, as a collector, that's the #1 parameter that I will look at before buying a TV/DVD set.
Also, on an unfortunate note, the R2/4 6M$M S2 sets are also sub-par xfr quality, however, they're still official Universal studio releases and the best available anywhere. Note for BW fans: As you all know, the first 2-parter BW "pilot" eps were included in the 6M$M S2 series and are included in the S2 6M$M R2/4 sets. Those 2 eps in this set didn't fare well in the xfr to DVD. Either Universal didn't spend the $'s to remaster these prints or perhaps the PAL masters weren't available for them to do so. That's anyone's guess except for employees of Universal.
